Thank you for using StarHire™, a platform that helps users practice and improve interview skills using AI-generated feedback. This Privacy Policy outlines what data we (and our service providers) collect and how it's used.

1. What We Collect

• AI Feedback – Your session feedback is stored anonymously using a randomly generated session ID (UUID). This includes summary-level notes (e.g. STAR structure, tone, clarity), timestamps, and scoring metrics. No audio or full transcripts are retained.
• Email Addresses (via Stripe only) – If you tip or pay through Stripe, your email may be collected by Stripe for sending receipts. StarHire does not see or store this data beyond what Stripe manages.
• Device & Usage Info – Our hosting providers (such as Vercel and Render) may automatically log IP addresses and browser details to manage security and performance. We do not use this information for tracking or profiling users.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To generate and display feedback based on your session responses
• To monitor app performance and error diagnostics (in anonymous form)
• To analyze overall response trends using anonymized session feedback (for quality improvement)
• To process payments and email receipts via Stripe

3. Third-Party Services

StarHire relies on third-party providers to deliver functionality:

• OpenAI – Processes your audio/transcript for feedback, but we do not retain or store any content submitted.
• Stripe – Handles all payment and receipt processing securely.
• Render & Vercel – Provide hosting infrastructure. They may log IP addresses for operational and security reasons.
• Google Sheets API – Logs anonymized feedback summaries (e.g. tone, structure, score) for internal review using session IDs. No personal identifiers, audio, or full transcripts are stored.

4. Data Retention

StarHire does not retain any personally identifiable information. Audio files and transcripts are processed temporarily and not stored. Feedback data may be logged using anonymous session IDs. Stripe may retain payment-related information for receipts or regulatory purposes.

5. Your Rights

Since we do not collect or store personally identifiable information, it is not possible to link any data back to individual users. As such, requests to access or delete your data are not applicable.

6. Security

All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS. We follow best practices to secure backend systems and isolate any sensitive logic or credentials.

7. Policy Updates

We may update this policy as StarHire evolves. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
